Britney is Getting Married - Engaged to Kevin

Britney Spears is engaged to marry her 26 year old dancer-boyfriend Kevin Federline, the singer's representatives said on Friday. News of the engagement was first reported by People magazine on its Web site, and was confirmed by Spears' personal publicist and her label, Jive Records. The engagement comes about six months after Spears was granted an annulment to dissolve her surprise two-day marriage in Las Vegas to a childhood friend. Marrying Federline will also make Britney a step-mom, he has a 2-year-old with actress Shar Jackson, who's also currently pregnant with his second child.

Britney Spears has gone from squeaky-clean to hot and sexy. But is she really about to become a Playboy cover girl? Playboy West Coast Editor Heidi Parker sets the record straight: Yes, Playboy has approached Britney. No, the pop superstar did not agree to pose.

"There are no negotiations right now for Britney to do Playboy," Parker told us.

Was Kevin Spacey the victim of a crime? Yes, the leading man is doing a play in London and, at 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning, he was walking his dog when a man asked to use his cell phone, and then ran off with it. Spacey chased the man, but tripped over his dog and hit his head.

The incident had London tabloids asking if there was more to the story. But Spacey address those whispers on BBC radio, saying, "I think they're always trying to say, 'What was he doing in the park at 4:30 in the morning?' My doggy had to go."

He is the rabid photographer who verbally assaulted Rebecca Romijn-Stamos last week, so now, is Steve Sands sorry? The paparazzo, notorious for hounding stars, had this lukewarm apology for Rebecca: "I probably got a little carried away and I apologize for that. But I really have to ask the question, why would she come to a premiere and walk by the photographers who came to support her?"

Rebecca says she didn't pose because she was distraught about her recent breakup with husband John Stamos.

Britney Spears has told a magazine she is not a lesbian although she has not dated since breaking up with Justin Timberlake.

Spears told Newsweek she is not involved with anyone and denied reports she hooked up with a married backup dancer.

"There was a time when I was like, 'OK, I'm over men. They're mean'," she says.

"For like six months, not a single thing happened. Not like they weren't drawn to me, but there wasn't a single real attraction. I'm like, 'What's happening? I know I'm not a lesbian'."

She may not have found a special someone yet but Spears has not exactly been shy lately.

She has appeared topless on the cover of Rolling Stone and British Elle magazines and bottomless on the cover of Esquire.

But after taking it all off for the suggestive pictures, the 21-year-old pop star says she plans to put it all back on - at least for now.

"I did feel kind of weird after those photos," Spears said, referring to the Esquire cover on which she wears nothing but a white sweater and high heels.

"I was in a moment. I had, like, eight Red Bulls and said, 'OK, let's do it.' I learned my lesson and you won't see me like that for a while.

I'm kinda over it myself. Not that it's dirty or tacky, but it is really revealing and I wouldn't want my kid, at 21, to be dressing like that."

Is 21-year-old Britney Spears trying to attract a more mature audience with her upcoming album, "In the Zone"?

No, the pop singer says. "The record label wanted me to do certain kinds of songs, and I was like, 'Look, if you want me to be some kind of sex thing, that's not me,"' she tells Esquire magazine in its November issue. "I will never do that. I'm still doing what I love to do."

Spears appears on the cover in a short white sweater and high heels, re-creating a famous pose by actress Angie Dickinson.

But she doesn't see herself as superfamous.

"I'm famous, but I'm not famous like freaking Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston. But in my weird little head, I just think we're all here to inspire each other. We're all equal. We just bounce off each other and show the world what we can do."

Spears said if she didn't have a career in music, she "probably would have gone to college and become a schoolteacher.

"That was my dream, because I love kids," she said. "Either that, or an entertainment lawyer."

Spears' new album, "In the Zone," is scheduled to be released on Nov. 18. The video for the first single, "Me Against the Music," featuring Madonna, will debut on MTV's "Making the Video" on October 13, according to Jive Records.

"Me Against the Music" was co-written by Spears and produced by Redzone.

As a matter of fact, she was not quite diplomatic when making comments regarding her other colleagues in pop music – Beyonce Knowles and Christina Aguilera.


"Why are they mad at me?" Ms. Spears asks, claiming not to know about the incident where Kendel Ehrlich, wife of Maryland's governor, recently told an audience at a conference against domestic violence that she would shoot Spears if she had a gun. Many mothers in the audience applauded.

"Why are they not going at Christina [Aguilera]? Have they seen what she has on?” she asked the reporter. “I know I'm acting like a 4-year-old right now, 'Well, look at her!' But Beyonce dresses provocatively. Why don't they say something about her?”

Kicking dirt has become Ms. Spears’s new shtick as of late.

Perhaps her appearing topless on “Rolling Stone” and bottomless on “Esquire” isn’t enough. Neither is all the smoochie-coochie coo with Madonna.
